Did somebody say road trip? This Homecoming we’re hitting the open road to celebrate MC Prep! Each day brings a new stop on our journey—check out the daily themes and get ready to join the fun.
Tuesday: PJ Day – Driving Under the Stars
Wednesday: Twin Day – Road Trip Buddy
Thursday: Drive Through the Big City – Professional & Polished
Friday: Spirit Wear Day – Secondary students wear their float theme attire; Elementary students wear MC Prep spirit wear
Locker Decorating
Secondary students are invited to join in on the fun by decorating their lockers for Homecoming week! This is a long-standing MC Prep tradition and a great way to show your school spirit.
Guidelines:
• Any student with a locker is welcome to participate.
• Locker templates are available in the office.
• Take your template home, decorate it, then bring it back to school.
• Attach your finished design to your locker with magnets (glue strips or small magnets on the back work best).
This is optional—but we encourage everyone to get creative and make it fun!
Mums & Garters
At MC Prep, the tradition of mums and garters is a fun way for parents to celebrate and honor their students during Homecoming. Parents are invited to make them for their students and present it to them at our Pinning & Crowning Ceremony. This ceremony is an opportunity for parents and staff to prophetically declare words over each individual student.
Mum/Garter Details:
• All High School & Jr. High students are welcome to wear mums and garters to school on Friday.
• Parents will present High School students with their mum or garter during the Pinning & Crowning Ceremony on Thursday, October 16 at 8:35 AM in the gym.
• Mums and garters are not required—just a beloved Texas tradition for those who want to participate.
Homecoming Parade
Another Homecoming tradition includes our Homecoming Parade! All students will gather outside in front of the school to watch as the floats roll by, and immediately after we’ll head into the gym for our Pep Rally. MC Prep families are invited to attend both events!

Help Decorate
Elementary
Each elementary classroom door will be decorated for Homecoming Week. We'd also love help from our Elementary and Preschool Parents decorating the front entry of the school! Parents, please connect with your child’s teacher to volunteer and help bring these doors to life.
Jr. High & High School
Students are invited to take part in a hallway decorating contest. Each grade will be assigned a theme and a section of the upstairs hallway to transform. An adult supervisor will guide each group, but the majority of decorating must be completed by students.
Decorating Schedule
All decorating opportunities will be led by the adult supervisors for each group, and will only take place during the times below:
If you'd like to help with decorating in any way, please join the Parent Serve Team Band for more communication about how to partner with us!
