About Athletics
Mercy Culture Prep Athletics exists to develop student-athletes who are Built Different in spirit, mind and body, through daily encounters with the Lord, intentional discipleship, and excellence in athletic development, our students learn to compete with integrity, discipline, toughness, and relentless passion. We believe athletics is more than an opportunity to win; it is a training ground where young men and women discover their God-given identity, develop their gifts, and learn to lead.
Our culture is built on three foundational pillars: spiritual development, athletic development, and unity. Coaches intentionally prepare each athlete to succeed at the next level while teaching them to honor God, serve their teammates, and pursue excellence in everything they do. At Mercy Culture Prep, we are building champions who are equipped to influence their teams, families, communities, and the Kingdom of God.
Winter Sports:
Girls Basketball (JH & HS) – tryouts in late October
Boys Basketball (JH & HS) – tryouts in late October
Spring Sports:
Baseball (JH & HS) – tryouts at the end of December
Track & Field (HS) – tryouts in March

Athletic Uniforms
Athletic uniforms may be purchased through two approved vendors. Students are required to wear the designated athletic uniform during their athletic period.

Our generic gear may be ordered at any time throughout the year and will be shipped directly to your home. This order form remains open year-round.

Battle Sports (MC Prep Partner)
MC Prep has partnered with Battle Sports to provide elevated athletic apparel for our athletes. These items are available for purchase during designated seasonal ordering windows throughout the year. Orders must be placed while the store is open and will arrive approximately 8–10 weeks after the ordering window closes.
Athletics Director
Meet our Athletics Director
Coach Sean Riley serves as the Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at Mercy Culture Prep. A former professional football player with more than 20 years of coaching experience, he has coached at the high school and collegiate levels, served as a college professor, and played and coached soccer internationally.
Since joining MC Prep in 2022, Coach Riley has helped lead the football program to historic playoff victories and guided track athletes to district, regional, and state championships.
For more than 20 years, Coach Riley has helped student-athletes pursue collegiate athletic opportunities and scholarships. Through a proven process of film evaluation, recruiting strategy, and relationships with college coaches, he has helped hundreds of athletes continue their careers at the collegiate level.
Coach Riley has also coached with Blue-Grey Football for more than a decade, including the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, where he coaches some of the nation’s top high school seniors.
A graduate of Liberty University, Coach Riley holds honors degrees in Psychology, Religion, and Sport Management, a master’s degree in Sport Management, and is a Doctoral Candidate in Strategic Leadership.
Coach Riley is the author of Built Different: It’s Not Just a Phrase, It’s a Culture. His vision for MC Prep Athletics is to develop the whole athlete through development, unity, daily encounters with the Lord, and excellence in competition, building young men and women who understand their identity, pursue their God-given purpose, and have a relentless passion for Jesus.
Coach Riley and his wife have been married since 1997 and have three sons. He comes from a third-generation military family, with two of his sons having served in the military and his youngest serving on his coaching staff.
